What can you expect
Location and accommodation
Nestled in northern Croatia near the Slovenian border, Gorski Kotar is a hidden gem often referred to as the green heart of Croatia. Acting as a natural climate barrier between the cooler continental north and the warm Mediterranean south, this region remains largely untouched by mass tourism — making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking peace, quiet and a deep connection with nature.
During your hiking holiday in Gorski Kotar, you'll stay in one luxurious mountain chalet for the entire week — meaning you only need to carry a light daypack during the hikes. The chalet is fully equipped with modern amenities to ensure maximum comfort, including a jacuzzi where you can relax and recharge after a day of exploring the trails.
A private chef will be on-site to prepare fresh and nourishing meals tailored to fuel your body for the adventures ahead. Enjoy a hearty, energy-boosting breakfast, a refreshing picnic lunch, and a wholesome, protein-packed dinner — everything a true hiker needs to stay energized and recover after a full day in the outdoors.
Guided hiking tours
Each morning we'll drive about 30 minutes to a new starting point, which allows us to explore different sceneries and a wide range of landscapes throughout the week.
Our curated hikes include some of the top natural highlights of Gorski Kotar. We’ll walk around the peaceful Lake Lokve, where there will even be time for a refreshing swim. We'll follow scenic trails along the Kupa River valley, known for its unspoiled beauty. One of the highlights of the week will be climbing the highest peak of Risnjak National Park, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, the Adriatic Sea, Krk and Cres islands, and Učka Nature Park.
Some hikes are circular loops, while others are point-to-point, giving you a variety of trail experiences. After each hike, we’ll return to our luxurious mountain chalet where you can freshen up, enjoy a well-earned 3-course dinner prepared by our private chef and unwind in the jacuzzi.
This is hiking in Croatia at its finest — immersed in nature, with all the comfort and style you need to recharge for the next day.
